The Benefits Of Massages

The known benefits of massage therapy seem increase indefinitely, as doctors, scientists and therapists continue to study its effects. Massage therapy is one of the oldest forms of healing, and is based upon the simple power of human touch. There are many different forms of massage therapy, each bringing unique benefits to the patient. Massages may be performed upon an individual who is standing, sitting in a chair, or most commonly, lying upon a flat surface. The invention of various forms of massage therapy products now allow individual to self-administer massage therapy techniques.

Massage and bodywork can help relieve chronic muscular spasms and tension, freeing us from pain, improving our circulation and increasing joint flexibility. Long term benefits may include reduced mental and physical fatigue and stress, promoting faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improves posture, and reducing blood pressure.  The immune system is actually improved by massage, by the drainage of the lymph system of the harmful toxins our body accumulates. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety, and create an overall sense of well-being. The end result we look and feel better. Plus, it feels great!

Besides these physical benefits, massages also offer these mental and emotional benefits.

Knowing a Good Foot Massage

Foot massage is one of the most unbelievably relaxing treats that you can give yourself or others. The ultimate study of foot massage is reflexology. Foot reflexology is "pressure therapy" and involves applying focused pressure to certain known reflex points located in the foot to cure or prevent disease. Foot reflexology is based on the premise that our nerve zones or reflex points go from the bottom of our feet to the top of our head, encompassing all vital organs on the way.

If you are giving a foot massage to your partner or friend than ensure that the massage foot is comfortably reclined on a pillow or a sofa. If you treating yourself to a foot massage than find a comfortable chair or sofa and put your foot on your lap.

It has been recommended that soft or meditation music can provide the perfect catalyst to get you in the mood for a foot massage. There are various creams and oils that can be used for a foot massage. However, we recommend the use of essential massage oils to achieve an ultimately relaxing foot massage. To begin with make sure the feet are clean, a foot soak with epsom salts is a wonderful way to de-stress before a foot massage. Make sure that your feet are completely dry (including in between toes) before you start.

Pittsburg School of Massage Therapy

The study of the human form, function and psychology create a balance of theory to the hands on training. This develops an understanding of the entire effects of massage on the individual.

The Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy offers comprehensive Massage Therapy training through two levels: Massage Therapy Training, and Advanced Massage Therapy Training. Each course is three hundred and eight clock hours of training.

It is this school license that allows us to offer diplomas after completion of each of our two programs, the Massage Therapy Training and the Advanced Massage Therapy Training. Completion of the two diploma programs allows our students to take the National Certification Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Many of our students have applied for, and received, licensing in their respective states. There is no higher level of recognition for a massage therapy training school available in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Massage Therapy is truly nothing if it is not hands on. To ensure quality training, the students begin practicing their hands on skills by the second week of their classes. Although this may be intimidating at first, we believe there is no other way to help our graduates to be their best.

Shiatsu massage combines many different techniques of pressure, rolling, kneading, tapping, vibrating, etc. in order to achieve full release of tension that causes aches and pains in the back, neck, legs and feet. Building upon this art form, Popular massage chairs harness these evolved techniques into their massage chairs to deliver a relaxing massage while helping the body rejuvenate itself. Therapeutic massages are just like any other type of massage, but it centers mostly on the medical aspect of the practice. Its proven benefits include: promotes healing by increasing blood and oxygen supply to the muscles, stretching and elongation of tissues to increase flexibility, decreased blood pressure, overall sense of peace and well-being.

Therapeutic Massage is a form of healing and relaxation that has been around for centuries. Everyone can benefit from a professional massage. Whether massage is on a table or a chair, Swedish, deep tissue or sports, the benefits are always the same. Therapeutic Massage combines techniques from various modalities, including Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage to provide the client with the therapeutic work needed to relax and regenerate their muscles.

Therapeutic massage can be very healthful, but we have to be sure which type of massage will best suit our body type, so as to prevent injury and muscle strain of such. Message Therapy Education

Massage therapy has emerged as an exciting and rewarding career in the past few years. Not only does it allow you to have your own independent business, it also enables you to actively participate in contributing to the good health and well-being of your community, and to nurture your zeal for helping others. With the demand for massage therapy increasing every day, there has never been a better time to join this growing health care profession.

Massage isn't just about applying pressure to a part of the body that may be aching, as many people think. Nor is it just about relaxation! Truth is, massage is an established, age-old tradition that needs to be studied in-depth and mastered well. Everything from the way and amount of pressure we apply to the way we choose the strokes and techniques requires comprehensive understanding of the body, the technique and the specific requirements of the clients.

Are you looking forward to having a career in massage therapy? It is always best to survey and find out which school best represents your goals, which matches your personality, and where you would feel most comfortable at.

Avoid choosing schools based solely on their geography and advertising. And always be sure never to settling to anything less than a high quality education. It is always the best and greatest gift that we have.
